WOW! It’s another beautiful Tuesday. Guess we had a great weekend.

“James your dad sent this to you from home”

“Wow! My dad!” James grabbed the parcel. As he unveiled, it was a nice wristwatch and a nice pair of shoes.

As Peter turned to move out from the room, the thought of how James Father took responsibility over every of his children flashed across his hear. “He His such a good man, I want to be like him when I grow older. Even the children he his smooching with so much love aren’t reciprocating the love neither do they appreciate his efforts”.

Peter had a throwback on the fatal accident that claimed his parents’ lives about eight years back. Since then he had to struggled to get virtually all things done, though his parents built a house before their demise but his feeding, school fee payment and other material things rested on his shoulders, with extra two mouths to feed, which was a huge task. “God is committed all the same, at least we are living. James attitude was a big ruckus”. Peter thought.

Few weeks down the line, Peter heard James’ conversation on the phone as he spoke to his father rashly and roughly to send N50,000.00 for handout which was a big lie. The whole handout for the semester was just N15,000.00 so why put the man through so much stress?

Later that day he saw James buying the latest Clog designer sandals for N30,000.00 at Nnamdi’s Boutique. This is how he has been spending anyhow.

James got to school the next day for lectures, he bumped into one of their youngest lecturers at the  department. The young man just got Temil Shirt the latest design worth N20,000.00.  As James sighted him, the eye insect came again and he also wanted the same shirt. He began thinking of what level of lie he could frame for his dad, If it was the Ananias and Sapphira’s lie or the Adam and Eve’s level.

He took out his phone and started the story of how one of his lecturers had an accident and the whole department was asked to contribute some token for him to hasten his recovery. “So how much is the money?” His father responded from the other end of the phone. “So How Much Is It???”

N38,500.00” He replied.

Jesus! This was The Ananias and Sapphira’s Lie.

TODAY’S HINT

As believers, so many of us put up this funny attitude to God. He gives us goodies on a daily basis but we still complain. It is either it’s not enough or it is not the best. You can’t outsmart God with any tricks or craftiness.

When God gives us a thing and we are not contended with it, it boils and flow down to every sphere of our human lives and endeavour. Be contended and always appreciate God for the little he has given. Bigger packages are in the waiting room for you. Be contented!

Contentment with godliness is a great gain

Contentment with godliness is a great gain. As a student in school how do you live life? I throw this question at you, yes you!  Must you live big at the detriment of your family’s income? Oooh oooh! you just want everyone see you looking good even if it is your parents’ tears all the way, who cares self? Let this stop. You are hurting them and yourself.

Are you in a relationship and bobo isn’t buying you designer bags and shoes so you decide to have an extra tyre aside him? Shebi you understand that one ma. You can’t afford to live on his N10,000 per month, it’s too small for you. Ma, this attitude is uncalled for. Check it and be contended.

Your wife is so fat/slim since she gave birth to your first baby so you are thinking of finding a substitute in her place, remember that the same stature you hate in her is what some other man is looking for. Appreciate and be contended.

Are you a minister of God and all you wish is a big congregation with large tithes? So by any means this church must grow. Be careful sir/ma. God is the caller and you are the vessel just pray and be contended to trust God enough.

Last week, we talked about sincerity. Most times, discontentment births insincerity too. Just imagine the beautiful lie he gave to his father so as to meet his covetous needs. Whatever you have that is given to you from above, cherish and spice it up with contentment.

Stop borrowing things here and there to blend your life. Contentment is a great gain. Remember Peter in the story above had nothing, yet he had pity on James’ father.

Often, we have been given all we want by our Father(God), but we can’t just accept the fact of its littleness so we extra stretch our necks like giraffe. Stick with God and be contended.

Contentment takes determination. Remember Daniel in the bible. He chose not to eat  “from the kings meat”. Contentment most times saves your head from some unforetold circumstances.

BE WISE!!!
