
Nigerian International gospel singer, Tope Alabi has gathered more than 20 million streams on Boomplay.
According to statistics from the music streaming platform, Tope Alabi’s music has been accessed and played more than 20 million times.
This is coming as the talented singer is preparing for her 50th birthday celebration with a 50-day marathon praise concert to be held live on her official facebook and instagram accounts.
Patricia Temitope Alabi was born on 27th October, 1970 as the only daughter. She was born to Pa Joseph Akinyele and Madam Agnes Kehinde. Tope hails from Yewa, Imeko of ogun State, and she grew up in an environment with strict discipline from her mother. She attended Oba Akinyele Memorial High School and obtained her West Africa School Certificate (WAEC) in 1986. Then, she proceeded to the Polytechnic Ibadan where she studied Mass Communication and graduated in 1990. Tope came to limelight in 2000 after releasing the debut album Oore ti O Common. This album brought her fame. On 21 May 2019, Nigerians on Twitter crowned Tope Alaba the queen of Yoruba language. This was as a result of a competition by United Bank of Africa in their 70th anniversary celebration. Tope Alabi have released a lot of album as well as single tracks. Since the beginning of her career, she has featured in many young gospel music minister’s song. However, her love for God has made many people move close to God.
